Sand Island

Lady-in-Waiting

<<The Queens Royal Guard>>

Lady

How long has it been? Days, weeks, months. years? Since ive seen you bouncing around happily, ready to challenge me in a play-fight session?

Seeing you grow from the first few days when you couldn't open your eyes, to the excited puppy who loved to play and venture out as my #2. I imagined a life long companion, who was born and raised next to me, and seeinng that budding reality was beautiful.

So many asked what price would i be willing to take to part with you, but you cant put a price on the priceless, and i was proud to tell them such. And our adventures ever expanding your world continued.

Lady

Then one day you grew sick, and you didnt want to play anymore and you just wanted to rest. I thought it would pass, but your condition only worsened and you sought me out for comfort for what i didn't realize was your final days. When you were gone, i cried, day after day, a quiet ambiance filled the space where once stood life, energy and spunk.

No more pain, no more hurt. Take a well deserved rest. I will watch over you while you sleep, and make sure noone disturbs you. I still cry, but they are tears of joy as well as hurt. For a companion that gave me a lifetime to remember them by, existing for the briefest of moments in a lifetime. Someday, we will continue our adventure, together.
